Accessibility, no small print
We want everyone to be able to read good news here — with a mouse, a keyboard, a screen reader, or whatever you need. This page tells you, honestly, where we stand.

The gist, in 20 seconds
- We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA — the reference standard for web accessibility.
- We are partially conformant — most criteria are already met; the rest is in progress.
- Found a barrier? Tell us — we will fix it, and thank you for it.
Uplifting aims to meet WCAG 2.2, Level AA — the W3C accessibility guidelines — aligned with the European standard EN 301 549.
It is a target, not a certificate: we use it as a yardstick to decide what is already good and what we still have to improve.
Uplifting is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA. Most Level AA criteria are met; a few points are still being refined, described below.
Things that are already part of the site, by default:
- Semantic HTML — headings, lists and regions with meaning, not just boxes.
- Full keyboard navigation, with focus always visible where you are.
- Colour contrast meeting Level AA for text and interactive elements.
- Respect for «reduced motion» — we switch animations off if your system asks.
- A «skip to content» link plus menus and pickers with ARIA and focus management.
- Alternative text on images and clear labels on every form field.
- Adequately sized touch targets, comfortable on a phone.
- Light and dark modes, with no jarring flash on page load.
To be honest, it is not all perfect yet:
- Some details of heading structure and contrast are still being refined.
- Images coming from third-party sources may have limited alternative text, outside our direct control.
- We have not yet run a full manual audit with screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA) — it is planned.
